In this video, I’ll take you behind the scenes as I prepare a special batch of mini art prints for Ellie and Brandon after their stunning wedding at Brindle St James & The Tipis at Riley Green.
The journey starts on my Mac, where I fine-tune the images in Photoshop to make sure they’re picture-perfect. Every detail, from colour correction to framing, is carefully adjusted to capture the magic of their big day. Once the images are ready, I send them over to my trusty Epson Stylus Pro 3880 printer, known for its exceptional quality and vibrant colour reproduction.
Next, we head to the cutting station – don’t worry, not for anything drastic! The prints are placed under my guillotine cutter (no drama involved) to ensure they’re perfectly trimmed to size. After that, they go through a little extra touch with a corner smoother, giving each print a professional, polished finish. It’s all about those subtle details that make the difference. Finally, the prints are ready to be boxed up!
In the next video, you’ll see how I package these beautiful prints in a stunning walnut presentation box, paired with a matching USB. Stay tuned to see how everything comes together to create a timeless keep-sake for Ellie and Brandon, encapsulating the memories of their perfect day at Brindle St James & The Tipis at Riley Green.

]]>What an absolute blast we had capturing Emily and Arron’s big day at the gorgeous Beeston Manor on Monday! From start to finish, this wedding was packed with love, laughter, and some seriously awesome moments. And let’s not forget, the weather just about played nice! π Despite a few grey clouds, nothing could dampen the spirits of these two lovebirds.
Emily and Arron tied the knot surrounded by their nearest and dearest, and the whole day felt like one big family reunion—complete with some cracking group photos! But the real tearjerkers? The speeches! Emily, her mum, Arron, and his brother all gave heartfelt speeches that had everyone reaching for tissues. Seriously, we were all fighting back the waterworks! ππ
From the beautiful ceremony to the crazy fun on the dance floor later in the night, these two had their dream day, and we were there for every unforgettable second. And let me tell you—Emily was a total stunner in her dress, and Arron? Well, let’s just say he couldn’t stop grinning all day long (can’t blame him!). The chemistry between these two was electric - check out the hi-lights below...

Picture this: a sunny day in Astley Park, Chorley, Lancashire where the ducks were waddling, the squirrels were chattering, and a gorgeous family was gearing up for what would become the most epic photoshoot of all time.
We decided to keep things simple yet spirited — football shirts and all. Mum Ellie was donning her beloved green jump suit, while her daughters Olivia, Bella, and Lily sported their favorite team jerseys.
And let’s not forget Grandma Linda, proudly rocking her retro shirt like she was about to kick off a match herself. Trust me, the old girl’s still got it, hahaha! They arrived at the park ready to make some memories, and boy, did they deliver.
As they struck their best poses, a whirlwind of hilarity ensued. But amidst all the chaos, there were moments of pure joy. It was a day filled with love, laughter, and more happy tears than you could shake a selfie stick at.
They left Astley Park with hearts full, cheeks aching from grinning, and I had a camera roll bursting with memories. As they piled back into their car, still laughing and teasing each other about who really had the best “game face,” one thing was clear: this wasn’t just a photoshoot. It was a snapshot of who they are — a wonderfully wacky, football-loving, fun-filled family.

The Art of Creating Mini Masterpieces by Nancy Lisa Barrett Photography
"From Lancashire with Love"
Creating mini art prints for wedding clients is like preparing a delicious meal—it's all about the love and care that goes into each step. It all starts in Lightroom, where the magic of editing happens. Here, colours are enhanced, contrasts are balanced, and every little detail is polished to perfection. But the journey doesn’t stop there! Once the images are looking their best, they’re whisked over to Photoshop for the final pre-print touch-ups. This is where we make sure everything is just right for printing, like a tailor making the last adjustments to a suit. Every pixel counts!
Next, it's time to bring these digital beauties into the physical world. After printing, the art of cutting begins. Armed with my trusty guillotine (don’t worry, it’s the friendly, non-threatening kind!), I carefully slice the prints down to their perfect mini size. They need to be just right to fit snugly into a gorgeous walnut presentation box, complete with a matching USB. This box isn't just packaging—it's a keepsake that turns these photos into a cherished memento.
Of course, I’m always thinking about the environment, too. I use recycled paper wrapping materials, making sure that every package is as eco-friendly as it is beautiful. Photography is only the beginning—there’s so much more that goes into creating these little treasures. From the meticulous editing and printing process to the thoughtful presentation, each step is a labor of love, making sure that Jordana and Chris’s memories are preserved in the most stunning way possible.
Plus - they've still got an A3 print to choose which is included in their Wedding Package II

]]>Claire and Owen's intimate wedding in Blackpool, Lancashire, was a celebration of love wrapped in the simple yet vibrant charm of this seaside town. The couple embraced the beauty of minimalism, opting for a small gathering of their closest friends and family. The ceremony, held at Wedding Chapel - Festival House, Blackpool, reflected their love for classic elegance and timeless style. The simplicity of the day allowed their connection to shine through, with every moment captured in candid street photography. The pictures tell the story of a day filled with genuine smiles, heartfelt exchanges, and the unique spirit of Blackpool.
The vibe of the wedding was unmistakably Blackpool. The iconic Blackpool Tower stood tall in the background, a symbol of the town's rich history and fun-filled energy. The sound of trams clattering along the promenade added a rhythmic soundtrack to the day, as guests strolled along the seafront, soaking in the fresh sea breeze. The couple's choice to keep things small and personal created a warm, relaxed atmosphere, allowing them to focus on what truly mattered: their commitment to each other.
As the sun set, casting a golden glow over the town, the couple and their guests took to the streets for a final round of candid photos. The art deco elements of their chosen venue blended seamlessly with the nostalgic charm of Blackpool, creating a perfect backdrop for their love story. The trams, the Tower, the sand, and the sea—all iconic aspects of Blackpool—were captured in the photographs, each image a testament to a day where simplicity met elegance, and love was the star of the show.

Nestled deep within this expansive estate is a magical riverbank wedding venue—a secret valley that feels straight out of a storybook, with ancient woodlands, rushing waters, dramatic cliffs, medieval houses, picturesque bridges, and more wildlife than you can shake a stick at. Honestly, we can’t think of a more unforgettable place to tie the knot in the whole of the UK!
When Sarah and Josh decided to get hitched, they knew they wanted something special, something that perfectly captured the essence of their love—and Gisburne Park Estate delivered in spades. Their wedding day was a perfect blend of romance, fun, and a dash of cool. With their two dogs in tow and surrounded by a tribe of bridesmaids and groomsmen, they transformed this dreamy location into a celebration that was as epic as their love story.
The day kicked off with all the pre-wedding vibes—Sarah and her bridesmaids were in full glam mode, getting ready in the epic Bridal House - you have to see it. There was laughter, champagne, and a whole lot of love in the air as they helped Sarah into her jaw-dropping gown. Meanwhile, Josh and his groomsmen were nearby, getting suited and booted, cracking jokes, and probably trying to keep their cool. And...lets not forget their two dogs, dressed to impress, and were ready to steal the show
And then, the ceremony. Picture this: under a canopy of ancient trees in the stunning Betty's Tipis, with the sound of the river gently flowing in the background, Sarah and Josh exchanged vows that were as heartfelt as they were tear-jerking. The love in the air was so thick you could almost touch it, and when they sealed it with a kiss, the cheers echoed through the trees. Their dogs trotted back down the path with them, earning all the “awws” and maybe a few giggles too, from the guests.
As the sun began to set, the party kicked off in the coolest way possible—inside the stunning tipis and tents set up on the estate’s lush grounds. The vibe was pure magic, with fairy lights twinkling overhead, rustic wooden tables, and wildflowers bringing the beauty of the Ribble Valley inside. Sarah and Josh had thought of every detail, from the killer playlist that kept the dance floor packed to the cozy corners where guests could chill and soak up the atmosphere.
And let’s talk about the party! It was one of those nights where time seemed to stand still—everyone was dancing, laughing, and just soaking in the good vibes. The tipis were the perfect spot for this laid-back yet electric celebration, with guests partying under the stars, sharing stories, and raising a glass to the happy couple. It was the kind of night that people will be talking about for years to come.
Sarah and Josh’s wedding at Gisburne Park Estate was everything a wedding should be—romantic, fun, and packed with personal touches that made it truly theirs. From the heart-melting ceremony by the river to the all-out party in the tipis, this was a day full of love, laughter, and memories that will last a lifetime.
Here’s to Sarah and Josh—a couple whose wedding was as unforgettable as the place they chose to celebrate it!

There’s something truly magical about a winter wedding, and Zoe and Colin’s December celebration at the stunning Astley Bank Hotel in Darwen, Lancashire, was nothing short of enchanting. With its rich history, beautifully landscaped grounds, and warm, intimate atmosphere, Astley Bank proved to be the perfect backdrop for this love-filled day.
Astley Bank is one of Lancashire’s most eye-catching wedding venues, and it’s easy to see why. Nestled on 6 acres of meticulously landscaped grounds, this former private mansion has a charm that’s hard to match. The transformation from a dignified home for Lancashire’s elite to an exclusive hotel has only enhanced its allure. With a setting this breathtaking, it’s no wonder Zoe and Colin chose it as the place to start their forever.
As guests arrived at the venue, the chill in the air was perfectly offset by the warmth inside the hotel, where roaring fires and candlelight created a cozy haven for Zoe and Colin’s loved ones. Every detail had been thoughtfully arranged to reflect the couple’s unique love story, from the elegant floral arrangements that adorned the ceremony room to the twinkling lights that added a touch of festive magic.
The ceremony was a truly heartfelt affair, filled with emotion and joy as Zoe and Colin exchanged vows in front of their closest family and friends.
Following the ceremony, guests were treated to a reception that perfectly captured the essence of winter romance. The Astley Bank Hotel’s impeccable service and mouthwatering cuisine made for a celebration that was both elegant and relaxed. The grand dining room, with its rich wood paneling and glittering chandeliers, was the ideal setting for an evening of laughter, heartfelt toasts, and delicious food that warmed both body and soul.
As the evening drew to a close, Zoe and Colin shared their first dance as husband and wife, surrounded by the people who meant the most to them. The soft strains of music filled the room, and as they moved together, it was clear to everyone present that they were dancing into a future filled with love, joy, and endless possibilities.
The very lovely wedding slideshow of Zoe and Colin at the Astley Bank Hotel captures the essence of this beautiful day in all its romantic glory. Every frame tells a story of love, laughter, and the start of a new chapter in their lives together. This December wedding was more than just a celebration—it was a testament to the enduring power of love, set against the backdrop of one of Lancashire’s most stunning venues.
For Zoe and Colin, Astley Bank Hotel was more than just a wedding venue; it was the place where their love story unfolded in the most magical way. Whether you’re dreaming of an intimate gathering or a grander affair, Astley Bank’s friendly and caring team is ready to make your day just as amazing. As Zoe and Colin’s beautiful winter wedding proves, this venue truly is a place where dreams come true.

Lucy began her day in the comfort of her parents' home in Preston, surrounded by her closest family and bridesmaids. The morning was filled with laughter, a few happy tears, and the excitement of getting ready for the big day ahead. Meanwhile, James was at The Red Pump in Bashall Eaves, where he and his groomsmen enjoyed a relaxed and fun start to the day. The contrast between the serene preparations and the lively anticipation added a beautiful layer to their wedding story, setting the stage for the unforgettable moments that followed.
Dreamy light was already filtering through the ancient trees of Browsholme Hall, as Lucy and James prepared for the biggest moment of their lives. The historic charm of the Forest of Bowland set a magical backdrop, with rich, romantic colors weaving through every detail. From the delicate lace of Lucy's gown to the vibrant florals that adorned the hall, every element whispered of timeless love. Their heartfelt handfasting ceremony, nestled in the lush greenery, was a beautiful blend of tradition and personal vows, binding their lives together in the most meaningful way.
As the sun dipped lower, the celebration truly came alive. The evening air was filled with laughter, music, and the mouthwatering aroma of freshly baked pizzas, as friends and family gathered under twinkling lights to toast the newlyweds. The vibrant, fun atmosphere was infectious, with guests dancing late into the night, the joy of the day reflected in every beaming smile and sparkling eye. Each moment captured in the slideshow radiates the warmth and happiness that surrounded Lucy and James as they celebrated their love.
As the night deepened, the festivities continued with a whimsical mix of colors and lights painting the scene. The couple's first dance, bathed in the glow of fairy lights, was a moment of pure magic, setting the tone for an unforgettable party. With every image, the slideshow tells the story of a wedding day that was not just a celebration, but a vibrant, joyful experience shared with those closest to their hearts.
Lucy and James' wedding at Browsholme Hall was a true reflection of their love—romantic, full of life, and unforgettable.

I had the chance to re-enact a small part of it with my latest pre-wedding couple, Lucy & James on Sunday just gone. They had decided they wanted to go to the area of the place where they got engaged, so off we popped.
We got lots of lovely images, with lovely colours & tones, we also had a great laugh & a natter too.
This last shot was an add-on after I had been checking out Google for a place we could park for another scenic shot. It has a painterly feel and black & white was the obvious choice for this photograph.
The car park was behind me on this LINK
Their day was fabulous, fantastic, and most of all - FESTIVE!

The shot I'd had in mind originally was the Bride & Groom walking arm-in-arm, totally loved up amongst the foliage & flowers, with the church as the background setting.
For a split second, it made me stop in my tracks, but then I thought back to my days when I had one camera and one lens...
In those days it was zoom with your feet, change the perspective, open your mind and most of all, don't panic, haha!!!!!
Hope this helps someone with a camera...

SHAW HILL WEDDING - NOV 2021 from Nancy Lisa Phillips on Vimeo.
]]>The first week in November saw Andy and I shooting our very last wedding of the season - and what a wedding it was...
The gorgeous wedding of Kathryn & Michael was taking place at the super organised Shaw Hill Golf Club & Spa. We have worked here a few times over the years and besides the stunning grounds it has many nooks & crannies for photography - it's a win-win...
A few weeks ago, Andy and I had the pleasure of shooting Jodie and Daniels' wedding at Astley Bank Hotel in Darwen, Lancashire. It was the most lovely day weather-wise, sunny, cloudy and a smattering of breeze - not scorchio but perfecto haha! Click the link for Storyboard Photos...

]]>The long-awaited wedding of Sam & Kate finally arrived last week after numerous changes to their plans, reception, timings. The girls and I decided to have the photo session before their marriage. This was the best idea ever because the weather was beautiful.
It was sunny, cloudy with just a nip in the air and the red autumn leaves were just starting to drop but we found enough to take some photographs. The colours last week in Duxbury Woods were just glorious. Check out a few of their images below!
Personal Brand Photography is a private photography session which focusses (no pun intended) on the client, their business and their character. You could almost class this as a Business Lifestyle Session. If you’re anything like me and you want to see the person behind the product, then this may be for you and your business. I really want to show off the personality and the excellent service that a small business has to offer...
This weeks' beautiful wedding was at Southport Town Hall with the fabulous Emma & Phil. It was so nice to get some photos in the midst of the Southport War Memorial. It gave us lots of shadows and light and thankfully sheltered us all from the wind which was a tad fierce today, surprisingly.
I loved the wording on the memorial too, especially the first 3 words...

A few months ago I had my very first 'socially distanced' wedding. It was one of the very first to be photographed after we came out of the original nationwide lockdown. I felt slightly apprehensive, it felt like a whole new different world, but I worried for nothing...it was absolutely lovely and I loved it!!! I suspect the Bride and Groom and their friends and family loved it more though...

Earlier this month I was catching up on some glorious Food Photography/Commercial Work with the very fabulous Mawson's Mallows. Besides photographing some very tasty mallows, I also photographed the fabulous couple who 'are' "Mawson's Mallows!" They are a Lancashire Business, just like yours truly and they are based in Adlington...
One of the many questions I get asked is: Do you take photos of me getting ready? The answer is YES, no matter which package it is! Below are a few photographs from a super Wedding which we shot last year at the very wonderful Gisburne Park Estate in The Ribble Valley. I like to get a mixture of documentary and natural photography with one or two posed photographs to throw into the confetti mix. If you like my style, then get in touch x
Emma and Ian's Wedding at the very stately Samlesbury Hall in Preston, Lancashire. This was my first time photographing here and it was also the most stormiest (in weather terms only) wedding I have shot too. It was gale force winds and quite torrential rains at times, but myself and my most excellent bride and groom took it all in our stride.
Commercial Portraiture is a firm favourite of mine, especially on location with natural light too. This is the very lovely Paula Ludley who is a super Copywriter based in Lancashire. We met up a while back to do some headshots & relaxed business style shots in what was a very chilled out morning of photography.

The evening was sponsored by Moore & Smalley Accountants, who are leading independent providers of accounting, business advisory and wealth management services. They have also been sponsoring the Palace Shield Cricketers for the past 23 years which in itself is a remarkable achievement.
Astley Park in Chorley, Lancashire was the fabulous Autumnal setting for our latest Family/Lifestyle Portrait shoot with the lovely Smith Family. It was a perfect day with sunny, but cloudy weather with just a little nip in the air. It was great to see everybody running around having fun and throwing leaves at each other. Here is the second Family/Lifestyle Photo Shoot from Sunday just gone. This was taking place in the beautiful town of Lytham. It's a favourite place of mine and Andy's for photographing The Windmill, the coast and stunning sunsets. We were very lucky that the day we were there with Nicola, Ryan & Delilah, it was a jolly nice sunset too.
We started off in that gem of a park, Lowther Park. It's a small, well-formed little park and so neat and tidy and a joy to be in for all the family. Because the clocks had gone back that day we had to work to a fairly tight schedule, which between us, we all pulled off effortlessly.
We started off with a reflection shot by the pond, then a bit of shade under a tree, a bright sunny bench shot, then more shade. We do like to mix it up a bit to get a variety of shots. Before heading to the promenade we even had time for a quick starburst shot...and why not?
We also put one black and white shot in which was this young, fun and funky family strolling across the zebra crossing...shades on too, to complete the look, haha. Off to the prom for the final

Shaw Hill at Whittle Le Woods, Lancashire was the super setting for Claire & Tims wedding last month. It was a vibrant affair with a great mixture of characters and even their two little dogs got a starring part too. A beautiful afternoon of 'Baby/Tiny Tot Photography' with Jessica, Dave & Gracie. It was so nice to photograph a shoot for Black & White only. I always think mono is very emotive, there is no hiding place and it's very soulful...in my very humble opinion.
Anyhow, all the guys did super in their supporting roles but Gracie stole the show with her cute little actions and just general lovability haha.
Jessica & Dave - just some lovely prints to sort now...x

A few weeks ago we photographed the wedding of Rosemary & Karl at the Park Hall, Charnock Richard, Chorley, Lancashire. I went to photograph Rosemary at her home in Preston and it was a very chilled out affair with just her MUA - Louise myself, the bride (of course)...and Pebbles the cat. A super cat in fact, who was as chilled out as the bride. It was a lovely change to be able to take the time out to do the fine details in a very calm and relaxed manner. Pebbles also had a hand in helping out with the creative ideas too, haha.
Rosemary had already requested a mini photoshoot with her feline friend a while back. I thought it was a super idea and summed her up totally. One of the photos with her cat (there are many, I love puddy cats too) is probably my favourite photo ever in wedding prep. She nailed the look - correction - they both nailed the look, haha.
Andy was with Karl and his sister, who was Best Woman and what a grand job she did. She has the most beautiful smiley face that I have seen, lovely lady. Rosemary & Karl were getting married at Park Hall, Charnock Richard, Chorley - a place we have shot at before, so we knew the layout. I hitched a ride with the bride and her mum and dad, thanks to Penwortham Limos, Preston, Lancashire. It was lovely sat up front, and then we arrived - game on!

A few weeks ago myself and Andy (my hubby and wedding-second-shooter-supreme) ventured over to Sheffield for the weekend. We had been booked to photograph the wedding of Marie and Rachie a while back. This was the first time we had met these two lovely lasses in person. All our correspondence had been done by telephone and Skype, so to finally meet them in real life on their special day was a teeny weeny bit awesome.
We were both made to feel more than welcome in our separate locations, me at Wortley Hall and Andy at Rachie & Marie's home. It was a very hot day if I recall, in fact, one of the hottest weddings we have done, but with the coolest crowd ever. Marie & Rachie originally booked us after they saw our evening shots of the dancing from another same-sex wedding we did 2 years ago. They found us on Google and promptly gave us a call and we hit it off the moment we talked on the phone.
Fast forward to their wedding day in a super setting, fabulous guests, the dynamic duo themselves and an awesome rounders match to boot, haha. Check out a selection of photos from the day. These cats really know how to have a good time. Bless their stripey socks, haha...x

A few weeks ago we were lucky enough to shoot a wonderful wedding at Ashfield House and at St Peters Church Chorley. The Bride & Groom, Sarah & Robert were an absolute joy to work with. They were so organised and checked many a finer detail. The weather held off, even though the skies looked stormy many a time and they have made for some dramatic photos, which was super-cool!
There were many beautiful and poignant moments through the day, especially Sarahs speech...just amazing!! It's safe to say everybody had a marvellous day and I hope this selection of photos does us proud. Thank you for letting myself and Andy be your Lancashire Wedding Photographers for the day. Onwards with this small selection of photos...

A Pet Portraiture session in the Ribble Valley which took place a few weeks ago, starring the wonderful Dougal. He is the most inquisitive, soulful little character who had the best Scooby-Doo legs ever. It was a wonderful portrait shoot which we all enjoyed tremendously!
A recent Maternity/Baby Bump Shoot in Haslam Park, Preston, Lancashire. A fabulous day was had by all and even though it looks sunny it was jolly cold, but luckily there was a good wind speed for helping with the movement of the fabrics.
I came up with the idea of having a lot of flowing fabrics in different colours, but the most important one was the rainbow fabric for personal reasons. Yvonne and Keith have booked a trio of photoshoots with me which includes the Maternity/Baby Bump, a Newborn Shoot and a One Year Birthday Shoot. If you get the Trio Shoot then you get a super discount. We will be continuing the rainbow theme all the way through the other shoots. I can't wait, and I suspect, neither can they!
Our smashing couple had a ball, as did we. They left me completely in charge of the design and concept and I fit the photography to match the couple. We are all unique and every photoshoot is different. If you are looking for a Maternity/Baby Bump Shoot with a difference and like what you see, then contact me via my Website link or Facebook link at the bottom of this Maternity Storyboard.

A few weeks ago we photographed the wonderful wedding of Paul & Rachel. The whole ceremony and reception were held at the formidable Stanley House at Mellor in the Ribble Valley. Stanley House is a fabulous place for wedding photographers because there are so many photographic opportunities, both in and outside the venue.
It was without a shadow of a doubt one of the coldest (in temperature only, haha) and windiest days for wedding photography we have ever done. We definitely had to work around the weather, but luckily we had some stellar indoor shots to choose from, attractive doorways and a 5-minute interlude just as the sunset was over where the temperature rose to about minus 4 (yes, you read that correct, haha). Paul & Rachel braved the bitter cold and snow for some awesome shots...yay to them and us!!!
We hope you like looking at Paul & Rachels Storyboard for their wedding as much as we enjoyed being their Lancashire Wedding Photographers for the day.

These are just a few images from my back catalogue showcasing pet portraiture. I hope you enjoy looking through them. If you like what you see and think we could collaborate on a Pet Portraiture shoot, then contact me on the details at the bottom of this storyboard. Many thanks, Nance x
These are just a few images from my back catalogue showcasing the kind of work I do. I adore Black & White Photography, it's my favourite medium and it always seems to convey emotional subjects better than colour. I love simple, classic poses but at the same time, I have a passion for quirky features, angles and textures.
The first photograph is of Holly Moriarty who in her spare time was a model, a supermodel in every sense of the word and a beautiful soul. I was on a Photo Shoot when I saw that shot. I thought the metal fly curtain hanging from a door at a Coppull Mill would make some ace jewellery around Holly's neck, haha. To date, this is still one of my favourite shots. A judge in a competition once said it was a superb editorial shot, I still didn't win though...
I hope you enjoy looking through Part I of my Mono Selection. If you like what you see and think we could collaborate on a Wedding, Portrait or Commercial, then contact me on the details at the bottom of this storyboard.

It was Rachel & Paul’s Pre Wedding Shoot in Preston, Lancashire a few days ago in preparation for their big day in March. We were all looking forward to the day even though the weather was a bit glum and rainy. We met up at the Continental Pub and headed off to Avenham Park, set alongside the River Ribble where there is a lot of cover with numerous bridges. We carried on to the covered pergola to start off with a few relaxed shots as they chatted and danced with each other...
They soldiered on through the freezing cold wind and all got fab shots I'm glad to report. I couldn't do a storyboard until after the surprise print which I did for them was given to their mum on her birthday the other week. I'm glad to report that their mum loved it and the birthday surprise went brilliantly...so happy to hear that
Here are a few photos from that very, very cold day...

This was Amy & Bens practice lighting photo, which has the most views on my FACEBOOK BUSINESS PAGE ever, it went a tad viral, haha.
...but on with this photoshoot
We had a very quirky, fabulous day with a few photos done in our home and then it was off to Chorley Central where it was very busy, to take some different types of photo. We toddled off to Astley Park for some beautiful Autumn Leaves shots which always look very pleasing. Then it was back to ours for homemade soup...mmmmm. A great day had by all!!!
It's good to challenge yourself photographically, it keeps you alert, in vogue and a teeny weeny bit different. I always loved how Madonna re-invented herself over the years, a good work ethic I think. This photoshoot is an example of a Pre-Wedding Shoot available in my WEDDING PACKAGE 3. I always think it's a good idea to have this done before your wedding, then you can get used to the camera......get used to me even, haha.
You'll also get to see how I work. I adore candid photography, but I also like to take the bride and groom to one side to do some posed shots. I think a good idea to keep in your head is to try everything...if it doesn't work out, the photo won't see the light of day...but when it does work out you will look like a million dollars with cherries on top and then some!!! Then you can say to people as you flick imaginary dust off both shoulders..." we meant to do that"... ;-)
Hope you enjoy the photos. I know we enjoyed taking them
The next few photos were taken at our home, it's only small, so you have to utilize the space as best you can. I think you can work anywhere really...just be a bit creative.
I asked Amy to do deadpan...I think she nailed it!
...and Ben smashed it, haha...brilliant pose!!
I adore black and white photography and I just like the juxtaposition on this one...quite moody...
In a Chorley car park on Gillibrand Street.
An intentional blur of passers-by, but the couple had to stand stock still, which they managed most excellently (is that even a word, haha). When I take a photo like this, I always feel like it's a "lost in a moment" kind of photo.
...and so to Astley Park.
The shot below is called Multiplicity. I just take different shots of you with my camera on a tripod and blend the photos together in photoshop later. I'm an accomplished photoshopper and editor.
I love those shadows....
I adore that look back over the shoulder...
One of my favourite books is The Secret Garden and this bit reminds of what I used to picture in my head when I first read the book...and then add a fabulous couple to the mix...x
Thank you for looking...warm regards, Nance x

The second to last weekend in July was a busy one for myself and my second shooter Andy with 2 weddings to shoot and the weather was perfect for the both sets of couples, thankfully. The first blog is about the very lovely Chantal & Damian who between them have 7 children, yes you read that correctly. I can't manage with no children, never mind seven, haha. They are like Superman and Superwoman...so organised. Even on their wedding day they were non-stop look after the kids, sort the kids, dress the kids. A big high five from me and Andy!! Chantal was getting ready at home, which is a big old rambling house with great big windows and high ceilings. The light was everything to me, it made for some beautiful shots of the bride getting ready. Andy was with Damian and all the lads at the Oaks Hotel in Burnley and made good use of the available space of this lovely old building.
The ceremony and reception were being held at the absolutely gorgeous Towneley Hall with its immaculate grounds. Any brides or grooms looking for a venue to have their wedding at would be well advised to have a good look round Towneley Hall...it is stunning, and the staff were very good with everybody...10/10! All the fabulous vendors used in Chantal & Damian's big day are named below, along with their respective links.
Bridesmaids Dresses from Monsoon
Shoes: Next
and last, but not least...the fantastic Vintage Ice Cream Van, Hyacinth (stunning renovation and lovely ladies who run it)

I finally met the happy couple and their little dog at the Continental. I always think it's nice to know that your wedding photographer can work around taxing circumstances and I did...but it's also marvellous that the wedding couple can give everything a go, try different poses and dare to be different...and they did...BIG TIME!!!! The photos below are just a selection from their Pre Wedding Shoot but if you click on any of the photos in this blog it will take you to the full gallery of a typical Pre Wedding Shoot that I do or you can just click this link: ALISON & ANDY
I shot this first photo in the pouring rain with my trusty brolly tied to me (so my hands were free to use my camera) whilst they were nice and warm in their lovely car. We utilised every available situation from there on in.
Then we went under the railway bridge and managed to get many different shots here...incredibly varied actually. The light was really quite good in parts too even though it was dull and very wet.
I loved how the light caught Alison's face and her eyes are startlingly blue...when she is not laughing (which she does a lot) she has got the most awesome serene face...so there!!
...and Andy...well what can I say about Andy (we actually went to the same school together and discussed in depth the teachers and the shenanigans they they got up to...most fun, haha). Andy reminds me of Chief Brodie from Jaws. he's got a right strong jaw line (no pun intended) and you know when somebody is going to look stonking in Black & White and he did too!!!
This is my quirky nature coming through. Alison & Andy have military backgrounds and I thought it would be cool to get them standing at ease...and the dog too...this was shot 20+ hahaha. I got my shot though.
I adore unscripted moments...this was Alison being Alison ( a gentle kick for Andy)...she's a little mischief that one hehe!!
No posing...just chatting...they are very natural in front of the camera.
Awww...very photogenic...all 3 of them...x
Laughter in the rain on the wonky steps at Avenham.
Romancing The Stone...great thing about it being rainy...there was nobody about...woot woot, clear shots!
Dare To Be Different...Who Dares Wins!!!
A great day had by all...x
