LANCASTER HOUSE HOTEL - WEDDING DAY OF ANDREW & EDWARDAndrew & Edward’s Big Day at Lancaster House Hotel Music by Scott Buckley - 'Simplicity' by Scott Buckley - released under CC-BY 4.0. www.scottbuckley.com.au
Some weddings sparkle. Andrew and Edward’s? It shone.
Set on the lush, leafy grounds of Lancaster University - Lancaster House Hotel, their wedding was a beautiful blend of elegance, heart, joyful laughter with just the right amount of sass & silliness. The weather was a dream, cloudy sunny like a giant soft box and absolutely no drizzle in sight - yay!!!
Guests arrived looking sharp and ready to celebrate! The grooms were absolutely glowing - suited to perfection, full of smiles and clearly madly-deeply in love. A piano player brought just the right mix of class, serenity & calm as the grooms walked down the aisle. The ceremony was moving, heartfelt, filled with warmth & then there was the ‘first’ of two confetti showers…
We wandered over to the Lily Pond at one point, and as if hired specially, a heron appeared, calmly perched in the water like it was waiting for its moment. Andrew and Edward stood nearby, and we captured a gorgeous shot of the couple observing nature casually photobombing in the background. The heron was, without question, an unexpected guest star.
As the day flowed into evening, the vibe shifted from easy listening to toe-tapping. A smooth saxophonist played soulfully at the Cocktail Hour. Then came the photo-cabin - where feather boas, oversized glasses, and wildly enthusiastic posing took over. Wedding chic gave way to full comedy gold.
Did I mention there was a second confetti throw? Let’s talk about the moment the confetti cannons made their grand entrance - and then promptly flopped. More gentle “pffft” than explosive celebration - but honestly, it just added to the charm. Cue laughter, a few cheeky cheers, and some very creative petal-throwing improvisation.
Later, as golden hour wrapped the campus in a dreamy glow, we rallied the troops for group shots. There were all sorts - laughing friends, proud family, people looking far too good for a long day of celebrating.
Then it was ‘just’ Andrew and Edward again. We captured a silhouette shot of them side by side, their profiles soft and glowing against the setting sun. And then they raised their hands to make a love heart above their heads - Perfect!
Andrew and Edward didn’t just throw a wedding - they created a day bursting with personality, warmth, and a kind of love that’s impossible to fake. From quiet moments to full-on party chaos, every beat of the day was a reminder: love wins, all-ways…
